Media Buying Supervisor, Digital Media

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Oversee plan negotiations, execution and media buying team day to day activities
  • Assist in setting the overall direction for plan development, execution and negotiating strategies
  • Develop, execute, and present detailed media plans working closely with the media planning team during the planning phase
  • Manage client requests (i.e., plan changes, budget changes, market place information)
  • Serve as key contact for delivering plans to the client
  • Analyze research to develop media KPI’s, vendor and tactical recommendations utilizing campaign and most up to date industry knowledge
  • Interface with clients, internal departments and publishers on a daily basis to manage online media buys
  • Manage buy stewardship in conjunction with digital media buyers and coordinators, analyze campaigns, and recommend strategic and tactical changes to maximize campaign performance
  • Oversee digital media buyers and coordinators on a daily basis, manage their workload and assignments as needed
  • Responsible for training and educating direct reports on company processes as well as the digital media industry
  • Build a comprehensive media knowledge base and synthesize information into ideas
  • Coordinate with internal partners to create a holistic view of the business
  • Magnify the buying power of every dollar spent
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Comprehensive media knowledge base and ability to synthesize information into ideas
  • Ownership of presenting plans both internally and externally
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
  • Strong negotiating skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Strong relationship-building skills which include maintaining positive client relationships
  • Strong analytical abilities and quantitative skills, including math proficiency
  • Ability to effectively utilize media research and reporting resources
  • Technical proficiency, particularly with media systems and Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • In-depth knowledge of digital media (display, video, online audio, social, rich media, influencer)
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Solid understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising, as well as an understanding of media concepts and terms, creative and budget requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of digital media buying experience, including 1 year of management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing & advertising or related field preferred or equivalent work experience

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills a must
  • Ability to follow processes
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be a strong team player
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and Internet
  • Strong work ethic and high sense of urgency
